Clean pine cones

Craft paint

Brush

Craft glue

Glitter

Small terracotta pots

Aluminum stars

Make sure that they were not harboring any critters so carefully wash the pine cones in soapy water.  The pine cones will close when you wash them, but after drying on newspapers for about a day they should open again. Paint the pots, and paint the cones green, then paint the tip of each scale on the pine cones white to look like snow.

When the paint is dry, put a thin line of glue on the edge of the scales near the top of the mini tree and sprinkled glitter on the glue to make it look like the mini trees had been dusted by frost. When the glue dries set a pine cone in each painted pot and topped each pine cone with a star made out of a craft foil.
