Wrightsville Beach Wahine Classic

Admission: Free


The Wahine Classic Surfing Competition features all levels of female surfers, amateur to professional and a SUP division. Spectators will see up to 100 competitors ages 5 to 65.


Jazz Rendezvous Festival

The inaugural Jazz Rendezvous Festival at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater features performances by Phil Deny, Oli Silk, Althea Rene, Jeanette Harris, and Marcus Anderson. Music Schedule: Friday: Opening Act; 6pm: Phil Denny & Oli Silk; 7pm: Althea Rene & Jeanette Harris; 8pm: Marcus Anderson. Saturday: 5pm: Opening Act; 6pm: George Freeman; 7pm: Danny Kusz; 8pm: David P Stevens; 9pm: Jackiem Joyner. 


Wilmington Fur Ball

The 13th Annual Fur Ball features hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer, champagne, live music by the Bibis Ellison Band and live and silent auctions. Proceeds benefit animal rescue groups in New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender Counties.

Scavenger Hunt

You will be sent off with a clue sheet to find prizes on the island distributed by local vendors. Enjoy hotdogs, popsicles, prizes, and tons of fun.


Leland Under the Lights Car Show

Join the 14th Annual Under the Lights Car Show for cars, entertainment, vendors, dining, and music from Brian White with Jammin’ 99.9. Goody bags, dash plaques and t-shirts will be given to the first 100 cars to pre-register.

Fairy Garden Workshop

Paint pots and build special fairy gardens limited only by their imagination. This is the third and final program between 4-H and Park and Recreation.

The 48th Annual Sneads Ferry Shrimp Festival headlined by Donnie Lee Strickland includes a parade, rides, food, live music, vendors, and a fireworks display.


Sneads Ferry King Mackerel Tournament

The 28th Annual Sneads Ferry King Mackerel Tournament features over $40,000 in cash prizes and TWT based on 100 boat entry. Entry fee is $100 per boat. Tournament includes a Captain’s Dinner, Opening Ceremony and Awards Ceremony.

The Beaufort Pirate Invasion

August 10th & 11

Beaufort Historical Site

Turner Street in Eury Park


For 2 full days, you can step back in time with the sights and sounds of the 17th century as Beaufort comes alive with over a hundred pirate and militia. Enjoy living history demonstrations such as sword fighting, cannon firing, black powder weapon displays, and a mock trial.


Taste of Core Sound

Hackers Island


Held twice throughout the year to cater to summertime and winter visitors, this event is always brimming with fresh flavors, local seafood, down-home hospitality, and plenty of reasons to dig in and enjoy.
