CENTURY 21 Sweyer & Associates is proud to sponsor Cucalorus this year for their 25th anniversary. To enhance the visitors experience at the festival, C21 Sweyer is working with Cucalorus to create an interactive map of Downtown Wilmington which will show all of the event venues and will also include a self-guided tour of filming locations from the movie Blue Velvet.

‘“We have filmmakers coming from all over the world who don’t realize that Blue Velvet was made here,” Brawley said about the iconic David Lynch film that came out in 1986, adding that in previous years many people had searched out the shooting locations themselves. The new map will make the search easier but will also draw increased attention to Wilmington’s history as a film destination.
Century 21 Sweyer & Associates’ owner and general manager Jeff Sweyer said his company was proud to be part of the festival’s 25th anniversary year.
“Deciding to sponsor Cucalorus was an easy decision, as this is a major cultural event in Wilmington,” he said in the release.’
Cucalorus is a multi-disciplinary arts organization supporting emerging and innovative creative professionals through our annual film festival, stage festival, and Connect Conference, a residency program, a community cinema, and an extensive community engagement program. More than 20 years in the making, Cucalorus has since grown into one of the largest film festivals in the South. More than 300 films screen each year at venues all over downtown Wilmington, attracting a large number of participating artists (350+) and thousands of fans and industry professionals.
The film festival will take place on November 13-17, 2019 in Downtown Wilmington.
