June 4-10 

Port City Music Festival

Kenan Chapel, Windermere Presbyterian, B’nai Israel, Cameron Art Museum, McErny Gallery, Beckwith Hall, Union Statium Auditorium, and First Presbyterian

The 10th Annual Port City Music Festival features world-class performances at various venues around Wilmington. Selection feature Beethoven, a Rising Star Master Class and Emerging Artists. Times vary.


June 10

Dining & Dancing on Water St

Riverfront Park: Water St & Princess St, Wilmington, NC 28401

This inaugural Dining & Dancing event features a seated sunset Sunday supper, live music, beer and wine. Proceeds benefit Little Pink Houses of Hope, which provide vacations for breast cancer patients and their families. Event starts at 6pm.


June 14-16

Cape Fear Independent Film Festival

Community Arts Center: 120 South 2nd St, Wilmington, NC 28401

The Cape Fear Independent Film Festival holds screening at the Community Arts center in downtown Wilmington. The event celebrates local, regional, national, and international films. Includes 3 days of films and Saturday is Prom Night after the Wilmington Film Awards.


June 20

Bubbles & Blooms

New Hanover County Arboretum: 6206 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403

Bubbles & Blooms at the New Hanover County Arboretum in Wilmington features blooming borders and floating bubbles, plus live music with L Shape Lot, food trucks, and drinks. Proceeds help support the Arboretum.



June 8-10

Jon the Flight: B-17 Aluminum Overcast

Cape Fear Regional Airport: 4019 Long Beach Road, Oak Island, NC 28465

Climb aboard one of the few remaining airworthy B-17s in the world and step back into the World War II era. Stand in the footsteps of the bombardier, the navigator, and the waist gunner and relive history by experiencing this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fly in one of WW II’s most magnificent aircraft.


June 15-17

Bald Head Island Pirate Invasion

Bald Head Island

The pirates are coming and taking over the island for a weekend of lighthearted plundering. Meet historically accurate reenacts and learn about the pirate life in the 17th and 18th centuries. Events and activities all weekend include partying with pirates, reenactments, sea battle, pirate camps, a ghost walk, pancakes with pirates, and activities for children and adults.


June 23

Food Truck Rodeo & Jam

Middleton Park: SE 46th St, Oak Island, NC 28465

Food trucks of all kinds will be serving a variety of delicious dishes while bands play live music. Bands include Bad Alibis, Nowcast, Blindside and Subcitizen. Food includes A&E Food truck, Joe’s Loves Lobster Roll, Seafood Hut and more. Suggested donation is $5 to benefit the Middleton Park Redevelopment Project.


June 30

4th of July Festival Beach Day

Middleton Park: SE 46th St, Oak Island, NC 28465

In conjunction with Southport’s NC 4th of July Festival, the annual Oak Island Beach Day offers live entertainment, dozens of family contests, inflatables, rides and games. On the beach infant of the cabana, there will be corn hole, bocce ball, sand castle building, and volleyball contests. A shake boarding contest will be held at the skate park and later a shag contest with live music by The Holiday Band.



June 9

Arts by the Sea Festival

Pu Pavilion: 102 Church St, Swansboro, NC 28584

This festival takes places on the waterfront and features a wide variety of art including jewelry, paintings, carvings, photography, sculpture, stained glass, and plenty of other crafts plus delicious food and wine tastings. There will be entertainment and activities for children as well.


June 15

Blueberry Festival

Various venues in Burgaw, NC

Full day of entertainment and southern hospitality featuring a car show, street fair, recipe contest, BBQ cook-off, a 5K run, special exhibits, and lots more.


June 29

Golf Day Tournament

Rock Creek Golf & Country Club: 308 Country Club Blvd, Jacksonville, NC 28540

Golf tournament fundraiser presented by NABVET’s Military Women’s Chapter #0088 at Rock Creek Golf and Country Club at 10am. Cost is $40 per person. Call 760-581-8539 for more information.


June 30

2nd Annual Anti-Poverty Festival

Jack Amyette Park: 1825 South DR, Jacksonville, NC 28540

The Eastern Carolina Human Service Agency Inc.’s 2nd Annual Anti-Poverty Festival will be held from 10am-3pm at the Jack Amyette Recreation Park. Come for food, music, games, field day activities, a splash pad, vendors, community resources, and a basketball tournament. Admission is free. lawn chairs welcome.
