UpScale ReSale & Design Challenge

Wilmington’s most creative interior design competition, the Upscale ReSale & Design Challenge, is back for its 4th year! This 2-day fundraising event brings together local design firms who are challenged to utilze ReStore resources to upcycle, recycle, and repurpose donated items into beautiful vignettes. All items are then made available for resale to benefit Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity. The VIP Preview Party & Sale will be held on Friday, May 4th from 6pm to 9pm with tickets at $35-$40. Memorial Day Observance & Parade

May 28th

223 E Bay St, Southport, NC

Admission:

The parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the corner of N Lord and W 10th streets and down Leonard Street to the John N. Smith Cemetery, where a Memorial Ceremony will take place at 11:00 a.m. Southport’s Annual Memorial Day Observance, Days of Remembrance, will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Southport Community Building, 223 E Bay Street.  The remembrance ceremony will honor those who served in the United States armed forces and conclude with the firing of the Historical Society’s cannon “Thor.” Home-made apple pie and ice-cream social will be held afterwards. MCAS Cherry Point Air Show

May 4th – 6th

Marine Corps Air Station: 100 Roosevelt St, Cherry Point, NC 28533

Beginning with a spectacular night show on Friday, May 4th, the skies will light up with jet afterburners, jet-assisted takeoffs, wingtip pyrotechnics, sky-diving demonstrations, incredible speed demonstrations by the jet truck Shockwave, plus the crowd-pleasing “wall of flame,” all culminating with a fireworks display. Saturday and Sunday, May 5th & 6th, will both have full day shows featuring a dizzying variety of military and civilian aerobatic demonstrations. You will get up close and personal to dozens of historic and modern aircraft displays, as well as a wide array of military vehicles and equipment.
