The 26-mile long barrier island is home to 3 small towns, all with a laid-back vibe and all 4 beaches tend to stay quiet even in the heart of summer.
Also on the list, is Emerald Isle located in the southern Outer Banks. It is described as one of the most beautiful beaches in the Carolinas and took top honors in the 2018 Readers’ Choice Awards for “Best North Carolina Beach.” Lounge on the beach or hop in a boat for some dolphin watching!
