The festival kicks off Friday night at 6pm with an outdoor concert offering food and drinks for sale. Saturday is race day from 9am-5pm with local teams of 20 competing on 45-ft boats for the title of 2019 Carolina Beach Dragon Boat Champion.

Join Poplar Grove for a guided tour through the Manor House and extend beyond the back courtyard to the tenant house and cemetery for possible paranormal activities. Bring your camping gear and family for a campout on the Tryon Palace lawn to benefit the Tryon Palace Foundation. Campers can reserve 15-ft square plots for a campsite for the evening beginning at 2pm. The palace gardens and shop will remain open until dusk. Saturday evening activities include crafts, lawn games, dinner buffet of hamburgers and hotdogs, s’mores, a campfire sing-a-long, and a moonlit scavenger hunt with glowsticks. Sunday morning includes breakfast followed by a fmily yoga session.
